People from all over the world celebrate Christmas in so many different ways and you will be quite surprised at the stories behind many of these Christmas traditions. In 1980, President Jimmy Carter designated Senior Citizens Month as "Older Americans Month." Today, Older Americans Month is celebrated each May to honor and recognize older Americans for the contributions they make to our families, communities and society.
But as the holiday has gained footing in almost every corner of the world, many countries have put their own unique spin on thanking dads — take, for instance, Victoria, Australia, which has something akin to its own state-wide dad pageant (more on that later).
