Growing apart? I currently specialize in the following: Marital Therapy with highly distressed couples, with couples that have severe and persistent problems, with couples struggling through the impact of an affair and with couples facing the prospect of divorce; and Family Therapy with adults and their parents and with adult siblings.
Conflicts usually do not resolve themselves; marriage counseling will provide an opportunity to hear and understand your partner, to take in their way of seeing things in a new and different way and maybe develop tolerance or empathy about your differences that may not be possible if you try to do it alone.
This fall, barring a disaster, we'll celebrate 30 years of marriage, a chunk of time that has been part bliss, part hellscape, with lots of regular life thrown in.
